Volunteering
As with all of our previous community art projects, this whole adventure is reliant on volunteers! Some of our volunteers are unable to do any of the physical work. That is OK! In addition to breaking and place tiles, the types of volunteers we need include:
- Greeters
- Interpreters/Spanish Translators
- Photographers
- Videographer
- Website updates (WordPress)
- Adult volunteers to be regulars during the week when students are at the center Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursday afternoons. Bilingual preferred.
- Wednesdays once a month for satellite building parties in Santa Cruz (Sign up for our newsletter for more information on when the satellite builds are happening)
- Support with community outreach at Watsonville Farmers Market on Fridays helping with table & material transportation & set up at 2:30pm and/or bilingual support tabling during 3:00pm-7:00pm market hours
- Sundays we are open to the community at large! Bring your kids! All ages welcome. (Children under 10 must be accompanied by adult at all times)
- Saturdays will be workshop days in the center. Workshops will be advertised in our monthly newsletter.
- High School students who come in during the week to break & place will receive community service credit! Check out Muzzio Hours for more info.
We are INCLUSIVE! If you want to get involved we will help you find a job that is fulfilling and fun for you. Adult volunteers present during the week when students are working will have a background check conducted.
Volunteer Orientations are to be held quarterly. We will announce future orientations on our website, newsletter, and Instagram (@watsonvillebrillante).
