Hawaii & Norway

Artist: Kristina Zepeda (Hawaii) & Cavanaugh Larson (Norway)
Artist statement: My name is Kristina Zepeda and I’m Mexican-American. I was born and raised in Watsonville. I am religious and catholic. I believe in holidays and spending time with my family doing special events like celebrating cinco de mayo and dia de los muertos. Watsonville means a lot to me because I get to enjoy our agriculture. Everything that grows for us to eat such as fruits and veggies. I enjoy going for walks to the beach and going for hikes. Being a public artist is showing my city how I appreciate our agriculture and how I appreciate the workers harvesting the food for us and that our community can work together as one. I am so proud to call it home.
